Dear Permit Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in visiting the
Bridger Wilderness. Enclosed you will find an application for a visitor
permits. Permits are required for all overnight campers with pack or saddle
stock. This application is intended only for private, non-affiliate parties
using recreation livestock. If you are needing to meet other permit
requirements because you are applying as an organized group (church, scouts,
club, etc.) educational organization or commercial operation, please contact
our office to obtain the proper application(s).
If you are planning on using 9 head of stock or
less, complete all sections except the campsite location section. If you are
planning on using 10 head of stock or more then you must complete all sections.
Your campsite choices will be reviewed and coordinated with other permitted
groups to prevent congestion at backcountry campsites. Please apply as early as
possible to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Certain areas of the Bridger Wilderness are
especially sensitive to impacts and therefore overnight camping with livestock
is not allowed within 1/2 mile of these areas:
- Ecklund Lake
- Barbara Lake
- Seneca Lake Trail

- Seneca Lake
- Little Seneca Lake
- Titcomb Basin
|
- Bonneville Basin
- Hobbs Lake
- Indian Basin
|
In addition, the following trails are very rugged
in nature and are not recommended for livestock use:
- Hailey Pass Trail
- Indian Pass Trail

- Jackass Pass Trail
- Washakie Pass Trail
|
- Clear Lake Trail
(above Big Sandy
Lake)
- Long Lake/Pine Creek Canyon Trail
